What happens
when there is no Wi-Fi?
Hell no!!!
Fun!! (notice the
capital F?)
Such as:
A deck of cards
factory assembly line.
Learning that a
pair of scissors can be poked through a wine cork to get the wine out of the
bottle.
Squirting wine on
a person’s shirt isn’t always a bad thing, especially when they collect stains
on that shirt.
Phones can be used
for fun social games and not only Facebook and selfies!
Exploration of the
communal library proved very educational. Mr Pout Pout taught us a very important
lesson (I think).
The Wi-Fi at the Jungerhostel in Idar Obertsien had run out before we got there. I’m not one to
be overly concerned with being on the Internet, or for that matter not being
able to be on the Internet, but tensions were high and some people in the group
felt somewhat lost without it. What emerged from this predicament was something truly beautiful, and challenged our technologiesconnectnessaddiction.
We talked to each
other and hung out in the common area reading books, playing games and
generally getting to now each other. I'd give up Wi-Fi for the opportunity to
be able to sit with a group of lovely people and laugh.
This time was a real highlight of the trip and a
reminder that we can be resourceful and that we can have fun without the
Internet
