24/3/15

Went to the Stedelijk Museum, I found that this museum was one of my favourites of the trip so far. I found the overall layout of the museum fun to explore with all the different pieces from a range of collections. It had a very fun vibe to the overall museum.

This piece by Wouter Dam I found very beautiful in its shape. I found the natural curves and the way the piece almost seem to flow and move within itself very alluring. The way that this piece seems to be from one point and can continue to flow in and out of itself to create an everlasting shape and form. The piece is stoneware, that is thrown and assembled with oxide pigment and something that stood out to me was the colour and the texture. Both the colour and the texture go hand in hand as the colours are quite muted and this links in with the almost rough texture of the piece.
