Friday the 13th,

Today I decided to focus my blog post on the work of Mari Ishikawa.

It was a wonderful energy that she provided in the introduction. The attitude that Mari presented adds a lot of flavour and passion to the work.

She focused on 'Parallel Worlds', seeing the same thing in a different light that can completely change the way it is perceived.

She focused on a lot of plant life and foliage, moonlight and nighttime, with photography, and it exuded a very near-romantic, ethereal air. Blacks, whites, greys, and sometimes a dash of red.

It conveyed perfectly with her work - silver, oxidisation, brushed/polished. The ghostly aesthetic was very flitting and lifelike, yet almost eerie in its metallic form.

I feel Marie had a very good grasp in her niche design, and manages to convey her style in a very fitting method. As a wearable piece, despite the intimidating size and weight, it sits beautifully on the body.
