Day 2: Heejoo Kim

I find this necklace (enamel, copper and thread) quite enticing and magical. The way the piece embodies this essence of nature and really gives off the idea of bark and moss and the different textures that each possess. Nature is such a wide bracket and in terms of the texture and the feel of soe,thing ranges significantly. For me the piece gives off this sense of softness as well as the idea of both roughness and smoothness. Even though we weren't allowed to feel the texture of the piece I find it interesting to consider what this does to the piece, does the feel of the piece alter the way in which we view it? And does it change our perception of reality in the way an illusion of texture can disrupt the way we view it?
