Went to the Stedelijk museum, I found that this museum was one of my favourites of the trip so far. I found the overall layout of the museum fun to explore with all the different pieces from a range of collections. It had a very fun vibe to the overall museum.

This piece by Wouter Dam was a piece that really stood out to me. In particular in terms of shape and form. I found this very beautiful with the natural curves and the way it seems to flow and move within itself almost having life of its own. The piece almost seems to have this idea that it can continue to loop and thread within itself, as if there isn’t an end point to the shape it can create.

The piece is made thrown and assembled and coloured with oxide pigment. Both the colours and the texture is something that stood out to me. The colours are almost muted and allow for a very flat surface of texture, yet the shape and form actually create the curves and angles. The texture of the piece is almost rough and has a very organic feel.
