Day 3: Katerina Matechová

This collection are pieces made from ping pong balls, each ball is hand drilled and cleaned away and attached together. These pieces really interested me as the individual balls are very structured and set out in the way they are drilled and constructed. However when they are put together to make the necklace the pieces moves in a very organic and free way, with the balls moving in different directions. It's impressive the amount of detail that is produced just by hand and marking out by hand, however it's interesting to relate this back to modern technologies of laser cutting and the actual perfection that the handmade can produce. I like the combination of the structured and the free and how they fit together in a very cohesive manner.
